Holona is a highly experienced high performance team development facilitator and coach, with specialist expertise in building effective cross-cultural communication with teams and individuals, as well as Pacific engagement and communication.
He has more than 25 years’ experience working with organisations as an independent consultant, senior manager in the public sector, television and in secondary education as a teacher and sports coach.
Holona is passionate about supporting people of all cultures to develop and perform to the best of their ability. He is of Niue descent and has a personal commitment to supporting Pacific peoples’ professional growth and development to achieve their personal and career goals. He sees developing Cultural Intelligence as an essential 21st century leadership skill for building and sustaining high performance in teams and organisations.
Holona often co-facilitates with his wife, Trish, to deliver workshops in their specialist area of Cultural Competence, Leading Culturally Diverse Teams and Engaging with Pasifika.
A self-published author, ‘Mentoring with Cultural Intelligence, Keeping it REAL’, Holona has also featured as a subject in the book, ‘Don’t Worry about the Robots, How to survive and thrive in the new world of work’ by Dr Jo Cribb and David Glover.
Holona is Board Member for the National Pacific Media Network Trust, the Wellington Pasifika Business Network and NET Pacific and Pakeha Trust. He is also a strong supporter of a number of Wellington-based Niue community organisations.
